On behalf of Organizing Committee, it’s a great pleasure to welcome you
all to the 1st International Conference on Occupational and
Environmental Health with apt theme of “International Collaboration and
Capacity Building” scheduled on 1- 2 March, 2013 in New Delhi, the
National Capital of India.
Last decade has witnessed a surge in curiosity and awareness in India
about the concerns for Occupational, Environmental Health and Safety.
Some efforts have been initiated to improve the environment and working
conditions of workers, still there is a huge gap in demand and supply of
the OEHS services for millions of vulnerable workers including women,
children and elderly. The glittering projection of India as the future
epitome of world economy needs to be equated with the improvement of the
worker's health and their working conditions. India needs to build up
over whatever little we have achieved and it needs multidisciplinary
approach and capacity building amongst all the stakeholders.
This conference envisages exchange of current scientific knowledge,
reliable assessment tools and methodologies to assess the determinants
of health appropriately across the globe. The conference vests its
interest in linking various fields of international collaboration where
experts from different countries deliberate on a common platform with an
intention to promote occupational and environmental health.
We look forward for the active participation from Scholars,
Practitioners of Occupational Health, Public Health, Nursing, Industrial
Hygiene and Safety, Environmental Science, and Policy Makers,
Regulators, Civil Societies etc.
New Delhi has lot to offer to its visitors. Located in Northern India,
it has adapted very well to the contemporary world while preserving all
its ancient historical grace, architectural monuments and culture.
During March the City has pleasant weather for roaming in Delhi & around
and other tourist places of interest nearby. Taj Mahal, one of the
wonders of the world, the UNESCO World Heritage Building is just 200 km
from the venue.
We expect several vigorous initiatives and robust innovative solutions
that will follow the conference leading to effective action and
benefiting the world. Kindly book your dates to
have an invigorating and memorable experience of the conference.
Sincerely,
Dr. G K Ingle
